Description
Abstract
A completion is the interval along a borehole (well) that is perforated to allow oil and gas to flow into the well. The perforation is through the casing or liner into the reservoir formation. The most common method uses jet perforating guns equipped with shaped explosive charges. However, other perforating methods include bullet perforating, abrasive jetting or high-pressure fluid jetting. In GOMsmart, the completion interval is identified by the API Number of the well, the tubing and interval number, and the date. Multiple completions can be within the same interval with different dates, due to workovers, etc. Production data is recorded at the completion interval of each well.
Purpose
Analysis for oil and gas exploration and production in the Gulf of Mexico.
