Abstract
The Prospect database contains information on New Field Prospects and Extension Prospects announced in the press, but not yet listed by the BOEM. Sources for these discoveries are generally press releases or other articles in popular news outlets or company websites.
Prospectd are generally added to the database when an article refers to a location before or while drilling, though the dataset also includes information on announced dry prospects. Inferred dry prospects are those which were drilled and the lease subsequently ended but without articles describing the drilling results.
