GOM³ Wind Speed Forecast

Data from the National Hurricane Center (NHC) is collected and used for analysis, display and forecasting. The Wind Forecast option is available when using the Hotlink tool to click a Platform.

The Wind Speed Forecast uses the latest forecast track and windspeeds from the NHC to estimate the wind speeds at the chosen platform over time. This graph of the storm as it passes hopefully gives more time for planning and efficient evacuation operations. The graph below shows forecasted wind speeds at the Prince TLP in Ewing Bank 1003 ahead of Barry before it became a hurricane in 2019.
