Earth Science Associates (ESA) incorporates passive web searching technology; that runs every hour, 7-days a week, to discover all data updates released by the US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management and Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement. Once new data is detected, additional processing of data automatically takes place within multiple areas of GOMsmart, including the map, reports and charts.

The datasets updated most frequently by BOEM are processed and updated in GOMsmart within an hour or two of their release.
